ENGLISH VERSION :
Here we are, in the middle of August! For some, the vacations are long gone and you’re already back in the swing of things. For others, you’re still enjoying the last few weeks of summer before heading back to school. It was while I was thinking about what to write this week that I thought I’d tell you about the perfect shoes for the transition between two seasons. Given the catastrophic weather that much of France has endured this summer, there’s a good chance that we’re in for another Indian summer and that, as our friend Claude François used to say, we won’t be enjoying Mondays in the sun.
Right, then. Now that I’ve made my predictions like a good Miss Weather, let’s tackle the subject I’ve been dying to write to you about: off-season footwear.
I’ve already told you about them in a previous article, my Jonak ballet flats are a timeless part of my wardrobe. Their versatility is a major asset: timeless in the same way as my Chanels, this classic, elegant model goes just as well with jeans as it does with a dress. In the same vein, this little pair of golden braided shoes bought last year from Bocage are super comfortable and absolutely perfect for daytime or evening occasions. Ideal for mid-season, these practical, comfortable shoes go everywhere with me.
For a more “retro” style, these Mellow Yellow sandals purchased many years ago on Vinted are ideal. Thanks to their gum heels, these leather shoes are as elegant as they are comfortable. They remind me of the little babies I wore as a child.
In a totally different register, these magnificent Pedro Miralles moccasins purchased 3 years ago are still a favorite. Ideal for adding a touch of whimsy and originality to a formal outfit, this model gives me a boost every time I get the chance to wear them.
In rainy weather, you can always opt for a good pair of sneakers, including these few models that might inspire you. Whether it’s Veja for timelessness, Le Lissier for out-of-the-ordinary materials, or Nike for a more “pop” and original side, always make sure to waterproof your shoes to make them last longer.
So much for this review, which I hope has inspired you to accessorize your outfits to match your shoes. See you next Monday, same time, for a new article!
