Il y a très exactement un mois, mon amoureux et moi avons décidé de faire un tour dans Saint-Denis. Commune que je connaissais déjà après y avoir étudié à l’Université mais que je souhaitais découvrir davantage depuis mon emménagement l’an passé.
Nous sommes donc partis en vadrouille le temps d’une journée pour faire y faire un tour et profiter d’une journée ensoleillée.
Une parenthèse inattendue et bien méritée, ayant travaillé tout le samedi, profiter d’un moment en amoureux était sans aucun doute la meilleure alternative pour avoir le sentiment de vivre un semblant de weekend !
Nous avons d’abord visité la Basilique de Saint-Denis. Monument emblématique de la commune, je dois avouer qu’après avoir fait le tour de quelques églises ces derniers temps, celle-ci m’a plus qu’impressionnée.
La solennité de l’endroit et l’Histoire qui s’en dégage m’a conquise et il me tarde d’y retourner pour y visiter les cryptes où sont enterrés les premiers Rois de France.
Après avoir profité de notre patrimoine culturel, le moment était venue de se remplir la panse, nous avons donc fait place au patrimoine gastronomique. Après une salade bien fraîche pour Monsieur et un steak bien tartare pour moi, nous avons enchaîné avec un café et mon éternelle crème brûlée. Le tout à savourer sur une charmante place donnant sur la mairie et la basilique, une ambiance aux airs de vacances…
Une fois nos repas engloutis, quoi de mieux me direz-vous qu’une petite balade digestive ? Il suffisait de le demander, nous voilà sans transition embarquer pour le Musée d’Art et d’Histoire Paul Éluard où nous avons pu admirer quelques œuvres de Vincent Cardoso, jeune artiste sculpteur sorti tout droit des Beaux Arts de Paris.
Et pour finir en beauté, nous sommes passés devant ce magnifique monument jouxtant le musée. Avec ses colonnes et ses couleurs, j’ai eu l’envie d’immortaliser cette journée avec une petite photo. En bref, un programme mêlant culture et bonne bouffe, le cocktail idéal pour une journée réussie et recharger les batteries !

Exactly one month ago, my lover and I decided to go for a walk in Saint-Denis. I already knew this town after having studied at the University but I wanted to discover it more since I moved there last year.
So we went for a day trip to enjoy a sunny day.
An unexpected and well deserved break, having worked all Saturday, taking advantage of a moment in love was undoubtedly the best alternative to have the feeling of living a semblance of a weekend!
We first visited the Basilica of Saint-Denis. An emblematic monument of the town, I must admit that after having toured a few churches lately, this one more than impressed me.
The solemnity of the place and the history that comes out of it conquered me and I can’t wait to go back there to visit the crypts where the first Kings of France are buried.
After enjoying our cultural heritage, it was time to fill our bellies, so we made room for our gastronomic heritage. After a fresh salad for Monsieur and a steak tartare for me, we went on with a coffee and my eternal crème brûlée. All this to be enjoyed on a charming square overlooking the town hall and the basilica, an atmosphere with a vacation feel…
Once our meals are eaten, what could be better than a little digestive walk? We just had to ask for it, and without any transition we went to the Paul Éluard Museum of Art and History where we could admire some works of Vincent Cardoso, a young sculptor who graduated from the Beaux Arts of Paris.
And to finish in beauty, we passed in front of this magnificent monument next to the museum. With its columns and its colors, I wanted to immortalize this day with a small photo. In short, a program mixing culture and good food, the ideal cocktail for a successful day and recharge the batteries!
