Le 21 mai dernier, nous avons eu le plaisir, ma famille et moi, de fêter l’anniversaire de ma maman dans ce fameux restaurant situé non loin de la gare Montparnasse : La Coupole. Célèbre enseigne de la gastronomie parisienne, j’ai découvert La Coupole en regardant le film La Boum avec Sophie Marceau. Elle y tournait une scène avec son arrière-grand-mère Poupette où elle commandait au serveur “un poulet aux girolles” et je dois dire que l’idée d’y emmener ma mère (qui est sans aucun doute le sosie de Sophie Marceau) et d’y commander un plat similaire m’enthousiasmait particulièrement !
Nous nous y sommes donc tous rendus pour un déjeuner prévu à 14h du à la forte affluence et avons tout d’abord commandé une boisson au bar pour trinquer au nouveau printemps de ma maman. Une fraîche infusion de thé vert à la menthe, au sirop de framboise, avec myrtilles et framboises fraîches pour part et j’étais parée pour le attaquer le déjeuner !
Et quel déjeuner… En entrée, fruits de mer à partager. Bulots et escargots pour ensuite passer aux plats de résistance. Des ravioles de homard pour papa, une entrecôte “Irish Cut” d’environ 400 grammes pour les plus gourmands et une fricassée de volaille aux morilles pour maman et moi. De quoi raviver nos papilles pour un bon moment !
Pour finir en douceur, nous avons profité d’un dessert composé de boules de glace pour les raisonnables, de profiteroles pour les adeptes du sucré et pour moi, mon irréductible crème brûlée, fidèle au poste et toujours là pour clôturer un repas en beauté.
Pour finir ce déjeuner gargantuesque, soufflage de bougies, visite du restaurant et distribution des cadeaux. Une après-midi en somme bien remplie pour toute la famille et le temps pour nous de choisir entre une sieste ou une marche digestive avant de revenir avec de nouvelles revues Places to Be à partager avec vous !

On May 21st, my family and I had the pleasure to celebrate my mother’s birthday in this famous restaurant located near the Montparnasse train station: La Coupole. Famous sign of the Parisian gastronomy, I discovered La Coupole while watching the movie La Boum with Sophie Marceau. She was filming a scene with her great-grandmother Poupette where she ordered “a chicken with chanterelle mushrooms” from the waiter and I have to say that I was particularly excited about the idea of taking my mother (who is undoubtedly Sophie Marceau’s look-alike) there and ordering a similar dish!
So we all went there for a lunch scheduled at 2pm due to the high attendance and first ordered a drink at the bar to toast my mom’s new spring. A fresh infusion of green tea with mint, raspberry syrup, blueberries and fresh raspberries for part and I was ready to attack the lunch!
And what a lunch… For starters, seafood to share. Whelks and snails and then the main course. Lobster ravioli for dad, an “Irish Cut” entrecote of about 400 grams for the greediest and a fricassee of poultry with morels for mom and me. Enough to revive our taste buds for a good moment!
To finish in softness, we enjoyed a dessert composed of ice cream scoops for the reasonable ones, profiteroles for the sweet lovers and for me, my irreducible crème brûlée, faithful to the post and always there to close a meal in beauty.
To finish this gargantuan lunch, candle blowing, visit of the restaurant and distribution of gifts. All in all, a busy afternoon for the whole family and time for us to choose between a nap or a digestive walk before coming back with new Places to Be magazines to share with you!
